Why do I have to re-confirm some guidelines when editing a campaign?

These guidelines include the following types: “Change Default”, “Confirm Budget”, and “Automatic/Manual Placement.”

During campaign creation, users can review and confirm all settings to ensure the campaign is compliant. However, when editing a campaign, users will be required to re-open the campaign, ad set, or ad level to re-confirm the guidelines as compliant.

This is expected behavior, as the only way to validate compliance with these guidelines is by opening the relevant campaign, ad set, or ad.

Example:
I created a campaign with one ad set and one ad. At the ad set level, I confirmed the budget using the “Must Confirm Budget” guideline and successfully created the campaign.
Later, when I edited the campaign, I had to re-confirm the budget. If I didn’t, the guideline would be marked as non-compliant, even though it was originally confirmed during campaign creation.

Tip:
To avoid re-confirming custom guidelines each time you edit a campaign, ad set, or ad, you can set the condition to “Creation” within the custom guideline. This ensures the guideline is only triggered during the initial creation flow:
